This quick, no bake dessert bar is easy to take to picnics or a sick friend. Everyone loves the sweet, salty, crunchy goodness!
3 cups small pretzel sticks
1 1/3 cups smooth peanut butter, divided
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups melted butter
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
salt flakes (optional)
Crush up the pretzels into medium crumbs. You can use a plastic baggie or food processor, but I like to have a few bigger pieces running through the mix, so when the bar is finished you can see them. In a medium bowl combine the pretzels crumbs, 1 cup peanut butter, powdered sugar and melted butter. Press the mixture into a 9 by 13 baking dish. In a microwave safe bowl combine the chocolate chips and the remaining peanut butter. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring between, so the chocolate does not burn. Pour and smooth the chocolate layer over the peanut butter pretzel layer. Lightly sprinkle the top with salt flakes. Refrigerate for a couple hours before cutting into bars.
